In accordance with 748.531
Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in a social service or related field, with a total of three years supervisory/administrative experience or a Master’s degree or higher in social services or a related field, with a total of two years supervisory/administrative experience with troubled residents. Any educational or experiential qualifications to be considered as equivalent, in lieu of the above minimum standards, require prior approval of the President/CEO. Must be a Licensed Child Care Administrator and must be 21 years or older.
Duties:

Maintain current Child Care Administrator license

Manage the effective communication of information between all involved entities

Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team responsible for case management and care of the resident in the program

Comply with the Sound Decisions and respective program policy and procedure manuals
-
Comply with all licensing standards as well as funding source guidelines
-
Develop the agenda and participate in training, workshops and in-service meetings to maintain current information on activities as well as Policy and Procedures with Sound Decisions and outside agencies
-
Safeguard all contractual requirements and grant-specific financial requirements are met
-
Organize and maintain inter-agency relationships between the various entities involved in the program including all funding sources and contracting agencies

Adhere to and implement the terms of the contract in accordance with the funding source and SD’s policies and procedures
-
Provide and maintain accuracy and timeline compliance of staff training
-
Manage and coordinate the activities of a local advisory council and have involvement in both community and public relations
-
Develop and implement training, workshops, and meetings upon request
-
Uphold confidentiality in all areas of client and program operations
-
Uphold professional and ethical standards as prescribed Sound Decisions
-
Demonstrate exceptional professional demeanor at all times

Responsibilities: The program administrator will be responsible for operational, managerial and administrative duties relating to the program.

Overseeing staff patterns to ensure the supervision and provision of childcare services that meet the needs of children in care;

Ensuring the provision of planned but flexible program activities designed to meet the developmental needs of children;

Have a system in place to ensure an employee is available to handle emergencies;
-
Assigning tasks to caregivers that do not conflict or interfere with caregiver responsibilities
-
Ensuring Sound Decisions complies with applicable rules specified in Chapter 42 of the Human Resource Code, Chapter 745 relating to Licensing and all applicable laws;

Ensure a child in care does not act as a caregiver; and
-
Ensure persons whose behavior or health status presents danger to children are not allowed at the operation.

The supervisor and child care administrator designated by SD will be on call to handle emergencies and accessible to caregivers 24 hours - 7 days a week. Caregivers will be informed of the system regarding how to contact the “On-Call” staff member in case of an emergency. The “On-Call” staff member’s name and contact information will be displayed in the staff office.

Authority: The program administrator has authority over the entire program. In the event the Child Care Administrator is absent on a frequent and/or extended basis, the administrator will designate an employee that has a Child Care Administrator licenses to be responsible for the overall administration of the operation until their return.
