My journey has fueled the passion and understanding I have for others; which ignites my desire to make the most significant contributions to the world that surrounds me. I have had the privilege to serve as a student and practitioner in the field of education, youth, and family services over the past 20 years.

During this time, I have studied systems, cultures, as well as communities, and believe it or not, all roads lead back to the individuals that make up all of these entities. With wisdom comes understanding, as the late great Maya Angelou stated, "Seek patience and passion in equal amounts. Patience alone will not build the temple. Passion alone will destroy its walls." Building families and communities is "serious business" as one of my late mentors would say. As an educator, public speaker, advocate, and mentor, it is my mission to invest in our future, through intervention, assessment, and, proactive practices.       

 

 I am a proud graduate of Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern University, where I obtained two graduate degrees in Psychology, Special Education, and Curriculum and Instruction.
